The 2026 WPA Coca Cola Road Running League is gathering momentum like a fast-moving pack charging down the final kilometre, with Kuilsriver surging to the top of the standings after four fiercely contested events.
Kuilsriver lead the league table on 300 points, holding a slender advantage over Edgemead on 296, while Pinelands remain firmly in the hunt with 288 points. Goodwood Harriers and ARD are locked stride for stride on 286 points, turning the title race into a thrilling tactical duel with every event carrying the weight of a finishing sprint.
Hewat continue to show impressive consistency in sixth place with 266 points, followed by Century City on 258 and Atlantis on 254. Bellville Road and Durbanville round out the top 10, separated by a single point in another tightly packed battle.
Further down the standings, Langa, Brackenfell, Ravensmead and Easterns Kraaifontein continue to climb steadily through the field like determined runners attacking a steep climb. Easterns Kraaifontein sit 14th on 234 points ahead of hosting the next league fixture, adding extra significance to their home race challenge.
The next stop on the league calendar is the Easterns Kraaifontein 15km on 16 May, an event expected to test both speed and endurance as clubs chase valuable league points on the Cape roads.
Runners can enter the event via Entry Ninja.
With more than 100 clubs already featuring on the standings, the league has become a vibrant river of colour, commitment and community spirit flowing through Western Province Athletics. Every point earned now carries the rhythm of a championship race, with the leading clubs knowing that one powerful performance could change the shape of the leaderboard in a single morning.
