Midas Spartans Athletics Club has made a significant contribution to the children of Leliebloem House in Athlone on Christmas Eve to help lift their spirits during the festive season.
According to Michael Schouw, the president of Midas Spartans, the participants in their series of virtual runs had incentives to complete certain distances to collect gifts for the children of Leliebloem House.
“This comes from the heart of the 65 runners from different clubs who decided to partipate in this initiative,” said Schouw.
Leliebloem House off Belgravia Road in Athlone is a registered NGO, NPO Number: 003 227NPO that operates as a Residential Child and Youth Care Centre for 60 children, aged from 4 years old to 18 years old, from troubled families and backgrounds and with no consideration of race colour or creed. The Centre offers the least restrictive environment for children who are placed via the children’s courts.
