Entries are open for the exciting THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN 2-Day XPLORE that will take place at the Van Gaalen Kaasmakerij, Hartbeespoort (North West Province) in August 2021 and the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN 1-Day XPERIENCE that will take place at the Paul Cluver Wine Estate, Grabouw (Western Cape) in September 2021.
In May this year event organisers, Stillwater Sports, shared the very exciting news that SA’s premier 3-Day Stage Trail Run would expand into a National Series of events with three events taking place in 2021 and five events taking place in 2022.
“The first event of 2021, our flagship 3-Day THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN took place in March,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the event.
“The final two events for 2021 are the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN 2-Day XPLORE at Van Gaalen Kaasmakerij (North West Province)on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 August, followed by the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN 1-Day XPERIENCE that will take place at the Paul Cluver Wine Estate (Western Cape) on Saturday 18 September.”
“Living up to the THIRSTI AFRICANX TRAILRUN reputation, the 2-Day XPLORE is the perfect prelude to what to expect from the flagship 3-Day event,” continues Meyer.
“Taking the format of an ‘individual entry’ event (not teams of two), runners can look forward to exploring the most spectacular terrain that the North West Province has to offer. Each stage will feature a different route that is guaranteed to keep things exciting while leaving runners in awe.”
“The 1-Day XPERIENCE is the perfect AFRICANX teaser,” confirms Meyer.
“Situated less than an hour’s drive from the Cape Town International Airport, not only is Paul Cluver Wines easily accessible and perfect for Capetonians that would like to enjoy a day out on the trails, it’s also convenient for trail runners that will be travelling from outside of Cape Town.
Taking the format of an ‘individual entry’ event (not teams of two), runners will be treated to some of the Western Cape’s most iconic trails.
